LOVE OBJECTS

‘Love Objects’ (2014) was a ‘growing’ exhibition which staged relationship-related things donated by anonymous contributors. Some exhibits were every day objects, some were agents of memory and proof, such as documents, relics or other love insignia. There were also things specifically made/crafted/designed for a loved person, without any recognizable function or meaning to others. Through their respective history, they were ‘auratic’ objects to their owners while being rarely decipherable to others. Through their stagedness, they became ‘auratic’ objects to visitors of the exhibition – attesting evanescence, absence, loss and finality.
